PDO threads (polydioxanone) are a biodegradable synthetic suture that breaks down in the body in approximately 6 months. They are surgical grade materials that are well accepted by our body. The evolution of thread lifting techniques and their application in the field of aesthetic medicine is now in its third decade. PDO treads have small barbs on them that allow it to anchor into the tissue which results in the ability to lift and pull the facial tissue.
